September 24, 2014 / 01:48 another sketchbook is finished![]() I’ve noticed it takes me about half a year to finish a sketchbook. Usually, while turning the pages of my old sketchbooks I can really feel the atmosphere of the period it was created. Some full of new ideas, some more for travel, some — for work, some obsessively covered with dots, or writing, others — clean and organized. Once I use to write a diary, but now I have a few blogs, so I don’t really write stuff on paper anymore. I like this sketchbook. I can feel how I become more and more free. I don’t try to impress, or to organize things, I just enjoy scribbling, and it is for me. ![]() some pages

July 3, 2011 / 22:49 another sketchbook
I have to count once, how many sketchbooks do I already have, because people keep asking me. I answer «a lot». I guess, around 25-30. Every sketchbook is really different, some are old are from the art academy, some — from travel, from work, and they contain all the interesting things I can find and stick or draw. I carry my sketchbook everywhere with me and really feel it is kind of my «home», my private space, where I can hide while drawing. So, I invite you to see my inspiration, sketches and the way of thinking.

May 22, 2008 / 22:09 Stamp for Karin
I made this sketch for a stone stamp for my dear friend Karin, who came from Germany to meet me in China. Karin liked it. The artisan who curved, was a bit stressed when he saw that we want not a usual «Your name in English and Chinese, ready in 5 minutes!», but finally, did a great job.

December 6, 2007 / 01:10 sketchbooks
I bought new felt-tip pens in a small shop which sells creative stuff for kids, and it really have changed my sketchbook style. This pens are not the regular ones, you can draw with them on glass or plastic. I draw with them patterns, then draw above with the regular felt-tip pens, and the color of the first layer stay unchanged. So nice! I already decorated everything I could see around: mineral water bottle, dvd remote control, disc covers and most of the pages of my sketchbook.

November 1, 2007 / 22:51 sketchbooks![]() ![]() I have many, many, many sketchbooks. The first ones are from highschool, they were tiny and quite ugly. Now I have 2 shelves of them. Some are form travel. Some are from work, from studies, from vacations. All my life is compressed there. © 2007—2021 Lena Revenko |
