Playing with painted stones

Sometimes I make games and toys for my girls. I like to give them some «tools with no rules» and to see what kind of games they create themselves. A few days ago we collected together little stones on the beach, and I painted on them faces, houses, fruits, flowers, etc. It took me two evenings. Today, while we were in a coffee shop I presented the girls a tin jar with these stones:

First, they spread them on the table, to observe all the pieces:

then distributed the stones into a different groups:

discovered the stones they like the most:

tried different ways to play:

I suggested a memory game:

To paint the stones I used simple acrylic colors, acrylic POSCA pens, GLASpainter pens by Marabu, transparent and shiny nail polish:

It was fun to make, to play, and to watch the girls playing :)
